Some will actually run onto the field and start wagging their tail, like this dog who darted onto the pitch during a Brazilian soccer match in the*Paulistão championships. He never got the ball, but he got the glory.

The dog briefly united the players of the Oeste and Capivaria** teams, both based in São Paulo state. It was player Alex Santos of Capivaria***(article is in Portuguese) who finally calms the dog e**ugh to escort him to an official.*Perhaps karmically, his team would go on to win the match 1-0.
