LOS ANGELES — Paul McCartney will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell ** Tales, in an undisclosed (and likely brief) role, Mashable has confirmed.*

Sir Paul — who has overwhelmingly played "himself" in 20-odd film and TV acting credits — adds a bit of Beatles to the Disney franchise that, up until this point, has been all Rolling Stones (with Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's long-lost father in On Stranger Tides and At World's End).
