This goldfish is a medical miracle, so don't call him Braceface, okay?

Mr. Hot Wing visited Lehigh Valley Veterinary Dermatology last week after experiencing difficulty breathing and eating.*The standard goldfish, who was born without a lower jaw bone, had little hope of keeping his mouth open — and surviving — without veterinary help.

Luckily, creative veterinarian Brian Palmeiro was able to fit Mr. Hot Wing with a special set of "braces" to hold his mouth open. The contraption is made from a small slice of a credit card, which means Hot Wing may also be the first goldfish with a built-in chip reader. Read more...
