At Apple's spring event — where the company is expected to unveil a 4-inch iPhone — Apple CEO Tim Cook opened with some remarks about the ongoing case between the Cuperti** giant and the FBI.

"For many of us, the iPhone is an extension of ourself," Cook said.

"We need to decide as a nation how much power the government should have over our data and our privacy."
