Amazon Web Services, a cloud services platform that supports the websites and data storage of companies around the world, suffered issues on Friday morning following a nationwide Telstra outage. The down time caused mass chaos, with 8 million customers unable to use the Internet, data or make phone calls and affected services such as EFTPOS, electronic systems, banks and Uber.
