Amusement parks are far and few between in Australia — so when one disappears, it leaves a big hole in people's*hearts.

There's a cluster of theme parks on the Gold Coast in Queensland, the odd miniature amusement park in regional holiday towns and the long-running Luna Park in Melbourne or Sydney, but otherwise it is slim pickings around the country.*
