LOS ANGELES — The Tick is coming to Amazon, Mashable has confirmed.

Ben Edlund, who created the comic book character as well as the 2001 Fox comedy and 1994 animation ******, is signed on as writer and executive producer.

Amazon has ordered a pilot for a Sony Pictures TV- produced reboot, which Deadline reports will star*Barry Josephson, Griffin Newman and Valorie Curry. Unlike most pilot orders, there's a real good chance we'll actually see it, since it's slated for Amazon Prime.

Tick — a spoof of comic book superheroes — is*a newsletter mascot for the New England Comics chain of Boston area comic stores.* Read more...
