Vimeo is ramping up its new slate of programming for 2016.

The online video platform, which an**unced its line-up at the South By Southwest Festival, was once primarily k**wn as the go-to spot for independent creators looking to sell content directly to consumers.

But after the success of the 2012 hit High Maintenance, which eventually got picked up by HBO, the New York-based company has been building up its original content library and investing heavily in its creators.

"Each one of our original programs have far exceeded our expectations," Sam Toles, Vimeo's head of global content and distribution, told Mashable. "The interest in the industry has been high ... we are trying to break the mold to learn for ourselves what content works for our audience." Read more...
