Oscars viewers **ticed Sunday night that The*Revenant director*Alejandro G. Iñárritu — among several other men seated in the section — refused to clap after Jenny Beavan won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design for her work on Mad Max: Fury Road. Beavan — who has been **minated 10 times and **w won twice — was up against*Revenant's costume designer*Jacqueline West.*

Some speculated that*Iñárritu wasn't clapping after becoming irritated that Mad Max was sweeping the technical categories, while others wondered if the men seated in that area were judging*Beavan for her unique outfit.
