HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "Hollywood? Racist!"

That was one of the many chants heard from the crowd of 100 plus #OscarsSoWhite supporters here, who gathered just blocks away from the Dolby Theatre on Sunday to call attention to the Film Academy's lack of diversity.

Led by Rev. Al Sharpton, the group was there to do one thing and one thing only: to "put the Academy on **tice."



“We k**w you couldn’t break your contracts this year, but we are putting you on **tice,"*Sharpton said.*"If you want to have a**ther all-white Oscars, we will cut you off."

"Amen!" people in the crowd cheered.

The peaceful protest, which was packed with media outlets from across the globe, was just one of many planned Oscar demonstrations — both virtual and physical — happening across the U.S. on the night of the ceremony. Read more...
