Ever since the Consumer Products Safety Commission declared all hoverboards (AKA self-balancing scooters) unsafe unless they have UL certification, retailers, merchants and manufactures have largely remained mum on what consumers should do about their beloved riders.

Arguably the most popular of all the hoverboard brands, Swagway stepped forward late on Friday to declare in an email to Mashable, "In complying with the CPSC's requirements, we ask customers who have purchased a Swagway to refrain from using their boards in the interim."
