Chloë Grace Moretz Talks Her "Empowering" First Vote and Explains Why She's Team Hill

http://media2.popsugar-assets.com/fi...1816.large.jpgChloë Grace Moretz can't wait to vote. The 18-year-old actor plans to cast her ballot in the presidential race for the first time in 2016, and when she stopped by POPSUGAR's LA ******s to talk about her new movie The 5th Wave, she told us why she's team Hillary Clinton - and why she thinks it's time young people need to take politics into their own hands.

POPSUGAR: This will be the first election you can vote in. How does that feel? I remember how excited I was.

Chloë Grace Moretz: It feels very empowering. The way I grew up, my brother was always very politically oriented, and he kind of raised me that way. We would watch political documentaries and stuff like that, and I was always very interested in that. So **w, being 18, I'm realizing just how much our vote really does mean. I think that's something that a lot of people in our age range don't realize: that if we aren't happy, we have the power to vote people in to make the right decisions for us. So yes, there's a lot of corruption and this and that, but we have a lot more power than we give ourselves and I think we need to take advantage of that. I think, finally, my generation is just turning around, and we're starting to realize that we do have political power.

PS: There's less apathy about it?

CGM: Exactly! Kids are actually registering to vote. And I don't think we should have to register. We should just be able to vote immediately the minute we turn 18. We shouldn't have to send in a paper that says "Oh, hey, I want to vote." It should just be, like, "Go ahead."

PS: **w, I k**w that you like Hillary Clinton . . .

CGM: I do.

PS: Is there something specific about her that really resonates with you?

CGM: I just enjoy that she's **t overtly masculine, and she's **t overtly feminine. She just really represents what I was talking about earlier, with that millennial age of women. We can just be who we are and **t be overtly aggressive, or meek and feminine. We can just be and say what we feel and how we want to change the world. I also really love her stances on education. I think her educational reform plan is very, very smart. And her [work toward] starting mandatory school at a younger age is very smart.
