The actress shared evidence of the ongoing issues, stating, "For over 10 years I've been visiting the field and meeting with families and survivors of ***ual violence who felt for so long that their voices simply didn't matter. They weren't heard and they carried a great shame." She then went on to recount specific stories of meeting young women and children who had been the victims of ***ual violence.
