XylemDx Concept for Inkjet Printing Diag**stic Tests

Cambridge Consultants, a company that has helped out many medical device manufacturers develop new healthcare products, is unveiling a new concept for printing diag**stic test strips. The goal is to allow clinicians and pharmacists to use inkjet printers to easily produce tests specific to the needs of individual patients.

The XylemDx concept involves using a printer to embed various testing modules onto a piece of paper, including ones containing biological reagents within microfluidic components, and folding the result into test strips that can be handed to a patient to take home. The printer would layer wax to create passages where chemical reactions to take place and a conducting ink can be used to connect tiny electronic components that can deliver heat or light onto the samples.
