Sheikh Mohammed approves $980m housing projects
http://img.s-msn.com/tenant/amp/enti...=f&x=238&y=160Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved new housing projects in the emirate during his visit to the premises of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) in Dubai on Sunday, 7 June, 2015. Besides approving the housing projects worth $980.1m (AED3.6bn), Sheikh Mohammed also received updates on construction loans issued between 2007 and 2014. The total paid amounts for the construction loans registered $789.5 (AED2.9bn), while the maintenance and addition loans reached $12.6m (AED46.5m). The Ruler was also briefed on MRHE’s initiatives for maintenance of housing complexes older than 10 years, and refurbishing houses damaged due to contingencies. Sheikh Mohammed reviewed MRHE projects from 2007 to 2014. The 16 accomplished projects included 4,368 houses with a total cost of $1.3bn (AED4.8bn). The Ruler stressed that providing quality and efficient services is at the heart of the government’s strategies and developmental projects for all service sectors, including education, health services and housing. During the meeting, MRHE’s officials illustrated research findings for the engineering projects from 2010 to 2014, state agency WAM reported. During this period, MRHE’s departments conducted 16 research studies aiming to establish the best eco-friendly houses designs and construction systems. The research finding included the green buildings systems, energy conservation and efficiency, construction systems and building materials systems. The meeting also discussed the details of MRHE’s approved loans and grants from 2007 to 2014, totalling 14,855, approved applications covering various types of housing facilities and services.
