Bringing new meaning to the tagline "snack responsibly," Arbroath reports that a man from Iowa City was connected to a late-night burglary because of a trail of snacks and a cheese-stained shirt. The police found 20-year-old Francisco J. Mu**z wearing a shirt laden with nacho cheese and carrying two cases of Corona beer after following a trail of snacks he had littered between the store and his location 100 yards away. After arresting the hungry thief, police administered a breathalyzer which showed his blood ******* level was .270. He had apparently broken into the store by smashing a brick through a window. Overall, he caused $1,000 in damages. Mu**z was placed under arrest and taken to Muscatine County Jail, and he faces charges of public intoxication, third-degree burglary, and second-degree criminal mischief. This isn't the first time a criminal his been caught after leaving behind a trail of food. In a much similar story, a man in Mt. Morris, N.Y. was found after a trail of stolen macaroni salad was discovered in his wake after he robbed a Build-A-Burger & Ice Cream restaurant on Mother's Day. In a**ther case, a man guilty of identity theft posted a seemingly in**cent picture of his steak dinner at Morton's Steakhouse in South Florida. The photo was e**ugh to help police link the culprit to a meeting between him and an IRS witness, leading to his arrest. Looks like the list of dumb food criminals continues to grow.
