Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is **thing new, having been used even in ancient Rome with the help of electric ray fish, according to Scribonius Largus, Julius Caesar’s own physician. A new TENS device soon to be coming out hopes to make TENS therapy more accessible, easier to use, and hopefully even more effective.

It will be able to measure a patient’s electrical nerve pulses, sending its own signals in an intelligent fashion to prevent the pain ones from reaching the brain. It will be able to run continuously for up to 60 hours when used with the accompanying powered carrying case and can be programmed wirelessly through a smartphone.

The Cur was designed by Huge Design, the company responsible for the Nike Fuelband, Jibo robot, and So**s products.

The folks behind the device are **w raising money via crowdfunding to help commercialize the Cur and make it available for purchase over-the-counter.
