The Brooklyn rapper has been charged with assault stemming from an incident at the Falls Festival in Byron Bay, Australia, about 100 miles south of Brisbane. According to police reports, 19-year-old Joey Bada$$ got into an altercation with a security guard and allegedly punched him in the face, leaving the man with a broken **se.Joey Bada$$, whose real name is Jo-Vaughn Jalani Virginie, was about to take the stage Friday, Jan. 2, at approximately 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by the security guard. The guard did **t believe Virginie was who he said he was, then Bada$$ allegedly lashed out.According to a police spokesman, "A 20-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by a man while working as a security guard at the festival. The man was treated for a broken **se and other facial injuries."
