The news surfaced earlier this week when a fan Twitter account shared screenshots of a DM conversation it had with Avril where she made a reference to personal problems and health issues. "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them k**w why I've been absent," Avril wrote. "I'm torn as I'm quite private . . . I'm **t feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers." The singer confirmed the authenticity of the DM conversation when she retweeted the screenshots, thanking her fans for wishing her a speedy recovery. Her rep also later confirmed that the exchange was authentic.
