Explosion heard near army base in Egypt's Sinai - witnesses

CAIRO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - A loud explosion rang out near the Egyptian town of al-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula on Friday after**on in what appeared to be an attack on an army installation, eyewitnesses said. The military post was on the road between al-Arish and Rafah, near the border with the Gaza Strip, the witnesses said. Ambulances were heading to the scene, medical sources told Reuters.
