The United Kingdom's Fire Service College is hosting 140 Saudi firefighter trainees for its course of managing fire stations in cooperation with the Department of Civil Defense. Civil Defense spokesman Col. Abdullah Al-Harthi said the program began on Monday in London and will last for 12 weeks, aiming to improve the skills of dealing with fire incidents, identifying the reasons for such incidents and managing the field operations of firefighters. He said the program provides comprehensive strategic training to develop the skills required to manage fire stations and search and rescue teams. He explained that the trainees were carefully chosen from different Civil Defense centers in the country.
