Farmer injured, cash taken away

ARIFWALA: Three brothers injured a farmer and took away cash from him here on Thursday.
Umar Daraz, son of Mian Faiz Bukhsh, of Jalal Jamon told the Qabola police that his brother Umar Hayat was coming back after selling paddy in ***** Market when Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Salim and Muhammad Nasir, sons of Naik Muhammad of Haman Rath, beat up and injured him besides taking away Rs 14,700 at gunpoint. The Qabola police have registered a case against the accused.

ARIFWALA: The Tehsil Bar association observed a complete strike on the call of Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association on Thursday.

Former bar president Khan Imtiaz Ali Khan said the democratic scenario and Constitution was the outcome of long struggle of democratic forces in the country. He said the 2013 elections were observed by a lot of agencies, NGOs and foreign delegates and they admitted that the elections were the fair, free and transparent. “Unluckily, the PAT and the PTI creating doubts about the elections to follow the foreign agenda. Actually, some countries do **t want to accept socio-eco**mic development by the government with the help of China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Those anti-Pakistan forces are behind Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri,” he maintained.
He added that the resignation demand from Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on the basis of the sit-in by a few thousands workers of the PAT and the PTI in Islamabad was **t only against the Constitution, but against the democratic **rms. He also condemned the language used by the PTI and PAT chiefs against their opponents. Muhammad Ibrar Sheikh said the legal fraternity would **t accept the unconstitutional demands of the PTI and PAT chiefs. Bar secretary general Syed Kashif Riaz Bukhari presented a resolution which was unanimously passed by the house. “The legal fraternity **t only believes in constitutional values but also in democratic system. If somebody either Imran Khan or Tahirul Qadri or any one else would try to sabotage the Constitution, the legal fraternity will play its role to save the Constitution, democratic institutions and country,” he demanded. Ch Zahir Aslam Gujjar, Mian Muhammad Akram Abbasi and former presidents Qazi Khalid Mehmood also spoke.
