PESHAWAR: The Home and Tribal Affairs Department has set up a complaint cell for those receiving extortion and threatening calls, said a press release on Tuesday.
It said that the name of all those lodging complaints or providing information would be kept secret. The complaint cell will comprise of representatives of police, prosecution and prisons department. The commissioners and deputy commissioners will receive the complaints.
The press release said that the purpose of the complaint cell was to provide security to those who used to be afraid of visiting the police stations. In a statement, Secretary of Home and Tribal Affairs Syed Akhtar Ali Shah said the purpose of the complaint centre was to facilitate the general public. Initially, the centre has been set up at the ****** of the Home Department but these will be extended to the districts gradually.
