48 killed in Iranian plane crash

Tehran, Aug 10 (IANS) All 48 people on board an Iranian plane were killed Sunday when it crashed shortly after take off at the Tehran airport. An official said the crash occurred due to engine failure. The Taban Airlines plane crashed at 9.18 a.m, Xinhua reported. Failure in one of the plane's engines caused the plane to crash on the **rthern side of Tehran-Karaj highway, Fars news agency quoted Mohammad Ilkhani, the head of Iran Airports Company, as saying.
