Al Ain residents demand improvements on ‘danger road’ to Oman

Residents have called for safety improvements on a the road that heads to Salalah in Oman. Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic-language sister newspaper, reported that the residents complained the road was **t properly maintained. They said the lack of proper lighting and traffic control measures, combined with motorists' tiredness after driving the 1,000 kilometre-plus journey from Oman, was causing accidents. Alia Al Ghafri, of Al Ain, said many people take that road to Salalah during public holiday.
