Google Discontinues Q&A Services
Google had a few local Q&A services in different countries: Otvety (http://otvety.google.ru/otvety/) (Russia), Baraza (http://www.google.com/baraza/en/) (Africa), Tanya Jawab (http://www.google.co.id/tanya/) (Indonesia), Guru (http://guru.google.co.th/guru/) (Thailand), Giai Dap (http://www.google.com.vn/giaidap/) (Vietnam), Ejabat (http://ejabat.google.com/ejabat/) (Arabic), Wenda (http://wenda.google.com.hk/wenda/) (China). On June 23, all the services were discontinued and became read only.
"Baraza was developed when there was **t adequate content on the web in emerging market languages. Content in emerging market languages has grown significantly over the past few years and several other services for user-generated content are **w available. Questions that have been answered up to **w will be available for users to search and browse. ** new questions and answers will be accepted, as we have stopped active development of this service," informs Google (http://www.google.com/baraza/en/help?file=readonly).
