</p>ROYLE Family star Ricky Tomlinson put a smile on peopleâ??s faces when he popped into a Liverpool care home.
The actor and comedian was invited to unveil a welcome sign at Bishopâ??s Court Nursing Home in Toxteth.
Belita Howell, home manager, said: â??It was the rebirth of the home and the team have worked hard.
â??We held a â??Blooming Great Tea Partyâ?? and raised funds for Marie Curie cancer research. We also raised money for our residentsâ?? activities fund.
â??We promoted the Gold Standard Framework in palliative care which is an award of best practice that the nurses at Bishopâ??s Court are striving towards.
â??We invited Ricky to unveil a welcome sign completed by the residents in their art workshop.
â??He was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and everybody loved him.â?*
Bishopâ??s Court cares for 39 people who are aged over 65 and who have dementia.
