The Daily Mirrorâ??s Pride of Britain National Express bus, which has been travelling the country to encourage people to nominate for the 2013 awards, paid a visit to the set of the soap in Childwall.
Former Eastenders and Celebrity Big Brother star Gillian Taylforth, who plays Sandy Roscoe, said she would give her nomination to the Marie Curie nurses.
She said: â??I think they do a spectacular job and they were great to my mum.â?*
Ayden Callaghan, who plays Joe Roscoe in the Channel 4 soap, said the awards were great for rewarding local heroes.
He said: â??Itâ??s for those types of people who go out into their community and donâ??t get the recognition.â?*
Actress Jazmine Franks, who plays Esther Bloom, said: â??I love the Pride of Britain awards, it makes me cry so much.â?*
Nominations for the awards can be made at www.prideofbritain.com or by picking up a nomination form at your local Lidl store.
All nominations must be received by Friday, August 16.
