The 22-year-old Iranian student, A.K., was said to have met his countrywoman on Facebook and they communicated for a while before things turned bitter when her mother refused to allow them to get engaged in 2013. Prosecutors charged A.K. with threatening to disgrace the girl on Facebook by publishing her photos if she refused to resume dating him. He was additionally accused of sending offensive SMSs to her mobile phone and exploiting the telecommunication services.
