KARACHI: On a tip off by a provincial minister, Sindh provincial anti-corruption watchdog arrested director of Sindh Education Department on corruption charges.
According to details, Sindh minister Sohail Anwar Sial conveyed an information to Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment regarding the alleged involvement of Director Human Resource of Sindh School Education in demand and collection of Rs200 million in the name of same minister for regularisation of contractual services of IBA pass 950 teachers (Rs1 lac to 5 lac from each teacher).
Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment Deputy Director East Zone Karachi Zameer Abbasi told The News that on the secret information passed on by Sohail Anwar Sial, Minister Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh, Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE) East Zone rounded up Muhammad Hussain Soomro, Director Human Resource School Education Sindh, for allegedly taking bribe from 950 contractual IBA pass teachers in the name of Minister Anti-Corruption for regularisation of their services.DD Abbasi added that in this regard, telegraphic and cellular information has been traced & seized and then consequently Mr Soomro was booked in case after lodging of First Information Report (FIR) at Police Station New Town on the complaint of ACE.
