ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said the government would wholeheartedly defend the state institutions and foil attempts to derail Pakistan from its journey of development and stability. He expressed these views during a meeting with former law minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan.
The two discussed the Musharraf case, political situation, andlegal matters. Imran said national institutions collectively constituted a state and that it was the government's job to strengthen the state institutions.
Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of parliamentary party from Balochistan, led by Special Assistant Yar Muhammad Rind, Prime Minister Imran Khan said development of Balochistan and progress of Karachi was among the federal government’s top priorities and after economic stability it was focusing on resolution of issues facing the masses, including livelihood.
Imran emphasised that his government was committed to assisting the Balochistan government in the best possible manner for progress of the province.
He contended that after attaining economic stability, the government was making utmost efforts to expedite industrial process so that the youth could get employment opportunities. Imran Khan said the youth of Balochistan would be able to benefit fully from the fast economic progress of the country and on this count, the government was focused to providing skills to the youth of the province.
He noted, “The people of Balochistan, particularly the poverty-stricken community, will benefit from the comprehensive social protection programme Ehsaas. He directed the elected representatives to play an active role in highlighting people's problems and solving them.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran said the government was fully aware of the problems of Karachi and also committed to playing its role for their solution.
Talking to PTI MNAs from Karachi here, he said Karachi was the economic hub of the country, and its progress was progress of the country. He said progress and prosperity of Karachi is among top priorities of the federal government.
He said after achieving economic stability, the government was focused on resolving issues of the people including inflation and provision of job opportunities, while special attention was being paid to bring prices of essential commodities under control.
Imran said the private sector and business community were being facilitated for generation of employment opportunities for the youth. He said acceleration in industrial process and expeditious progress in various development projects will provide jobs to the youth. The prime minister called on the elected members to remain in contact with people so that practicable proposals could be implemented for resolution of their problems.
