ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on Appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is meeting on December 24 in a bid to break impasse between the government and opposition on appointment of chief election commissioner and members of the Election Commission.The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has already given 10 days more to Parliament to decide names for the vacant seat of Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Commission of Pakistan. Sources said the government was stuck on the name of Babar Yaqoob for the post of Chief Election Commissioner but the opposition had refused to accept him.Prime Minister Imran Khan has proposed the names of Justice (R) Sadiq Bhatti, Justice (R) Noorul Haq Qureshi and Abdul Jabbar Qureshi as the ECP members from Sindh and Dr Faiz Muhammad Kakar, Mir Naveed Baloch and Amanullah Baloch as members ECP from Balochistan.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/Mh-ZyERSbyA
