GENEVA: Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday met Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the first Global Refugee Forum World here.During the meeting, matters related to mutual interests came under discussion.Imran took President Erdogan into confidence on his decision to not attend the Malaysia-led Kuala Lumpur Summit, media reports say.The premier also congratulated Turkish president over giving asylum to the highest number of refugees.Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned his Malaysian counterpart, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and apprised him of his inability to attend the Malaysia Summit.Dr Mahathir said he fully understood Pakistan’s compulsion and would soon visit Saudi Arabia to remove confusion about the Malaysia Summit.A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will not participate in the upcoming Kuala Lumpur Summit.The statement said Dr Mahathir Mohamad received a call from Prime Minister Imran on Monday.“Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his regrets for not being able to attend the Kuala Lumpur Summit,” said the statement.“Dr Mahathir appreciates Prime Minister Imran Khan’s call to inform of his inability to attend the summit where the Pakistani leader was expected to speak and share his thoughts on the state of affairs of the Islamic world.“Dr Mahathir would also like to correct some misinformation that the KL Summit was intended to be a platform to replace the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation,” added the statement.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/P9lWleOFu5Q
