For the first time, Dubai has outranked Heathrow as the world's busiest airport (http://mashable.com/category/airport/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss) for international travel.

Dubai received 67.3 million international passengers from February 2013 to February 2014, while Heathrow received 66.9 million, according to Airports Council International (http://www.aci.aero/Data-Centre/Monthly-Traffic-Data/International-Passenger-Rankings/12-months) (ACI).

Dubai's growth has been rapid. Dubai's international connections have grown so quickly in large part because of its location.
