It's very simple, satellite TV is an industry that provides cable channels over a stand-alone system known as (DBS) Direct Broadcast Satellite. This system works anywhere in the United States as long as there is a clear view of the southern sky. The system is independent and doesn't rely on other components around the home other than electricity.
