Over the last 40 years, lung cancer research has had more funding available to it than any other type of cancer, resulting in a progressive advancement in both the understanding of the disease, and the treatment of it. Modern-day treatment plans have come along way; however, they still fall short of what is needed to completely cure the lung cancer suffering that is produced on a daily basis.
