Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the leading cause of cervical cancer among women of all ages. Until recently, only women who had been diagnosed with HPV were really aware of this fact, but with the development of HPV vaccines the world began talking about the virus in earnest. It was a much-needed awakening for sexually active women, many of whom may had been completely unaware of the fact that their cancer risk could go up significantly because of an STD.
