Leukemia - Cancer of the Blood

Leukemia is cancer of the blood cells. It begins in the bone marrow, which is the soft tissue inside most bones. Healthy bone marrow makes white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. In leukemia, the bone marrow starts to make a lot of abnormal white blood cells (leukemia cells).
