KP merges Levies, Khasadar forces into police

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan on Monday announced immediate merger of Levies and Khasadar forces into KP police in order to bring tribal districts under the merger plan of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with the KP.Flanked by adviser on tribal districts Ajmal Wazir at a press conference, the chief minister said a notification had been issued in this regard, adding the entire process would be conducted in a transparent manner.He said 10-year development plan for tribal districts would be implemented according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said 28,000 personnel of both the forces would benefit from this decision.Lauding the services of the Levies and Khasadar force, he said both forces of the tribal districts made numerous sacrifices in war against terrorism to establish durable peace in the region and added no one would be rendered jobless under the directives of the Prime Minister. He said the provincial government was fully committed to the socio-economic development of the tribal districts and it would amicably resolve reservations of the Khasadar force.Speaking on the occasion, Wazir said personnel of the Khasadar force would be adjusted with same designation or post in police and added they would be entitled to all perks and privileges as enjoyed by the police force of the province.He hoped the merger plan would help bring the erstwhile Fata at par with developed parts of the country.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/JOZAIdz8tdc
