Women among 13 dead in AJK road accidents

MUZAFFARABAD: At least 13 people including women and children died while others were injured in various road accidents in different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday.The first accident took place in Punjgran area of district Muzaffarabad where a Muzaffarabad bound jeep coming from Neelum valley plunged into ravine while negotiating a sharp turn. Seven people including two women and a child died in the accident.At least four people died and six others including a child were injured when a jeep fell into to gorge due to careless driving in Baghan Parh Kot area of district Poonch. A woman died while another person was injured when a motorcycle fell into nullah in Katan area of Neelum valley.An over speeding truck crushed to death a motorcyclist in Dhani area, at Jhelum Valley Road. The bodies and injured of all incidents were shifted to different hospitals of respective areas.Prime Minister AJK, Raja Farooq Haider Khan visited the site of Panjgran road accident in which seven people died, monitored the rescue activities and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.Meanwhile, one day mourning has been announced in AJK state and ‘fateha’ will be offered for the departed souls in all institutions.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/wQT6ivr85fU
