Opposition?s joint move to change NAB laws

ISLAMABAD: The combined Opposition has started consultation with a focus to come on same page to bring changes in the accountability laws and also to take up the issue of the recent actions of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the upcoming sessions of the National Assembly and in the Senate.The National Assembly session scheduled to be started from April 12 while the senate session from April 15.To formulate a joint strategy to bring all the Opposition on same page to amend the NAB laws, the major opposition parties PML-N, PPP and JUI-F has made initial contacts to formulate the joint strategy to change the NAB laws.In this regard, the opposition expected to hold a joint meeting in the next week to formulate the strategy to push the government to come on table for bringing the changes in the NAB laws and also to push the government to agree to form the parliamentary committee on examining the accountability laws.There was a proposal being discussed to summon the meetings of the heads of the Opposition parties during the upcoming session of the National Assembly so that the Opposition to formulate its strategy to raise their voice on the NAB laws, which they termed the discriminatory towards the Opposition.In the upcoming session of the National Assembly and Senate, the Opposition has also decided to take a hard stance on the recent actions of the NAB.The Opposition has also expressed serious reservations on the NAB which sent the recommendations to Interior Ministry to place the names of the Opposition legislators on the Exit Control List (ECL) on just basis of the probe against them while the treatment with those in the government whom against the NAB was probing was different.It is to be mentioned here that entire top leadership of the PML-N and PPP that includes Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and President PML-N Shahbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former president Asif Ali Zardari and others were placed on the ECL.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/n7zsdwFswu4
