ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of four youths killed by Indian troops in Lassipora area of Pulwama district in occupied Kashmir the other day.According to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the slain youths — Tawseef Ahmad Ittoo, Zafar Ahmad Paul, Aaqib Ahmad Kumar and Muhammad Shafi Butt — belonged to different areas of Pulwama and Shopian districts. Their last rites were offered amid high pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans.Tawseef was laid to rest in Gadbug-Lassipora area of Pulwama district, while three other slain youths were buried in their native Nolu, Sedow and Hillow areas of Shopian district. The face of Aaqib was mutilated beyond recognition. The mourners told the media that his face was covered up with bandage by doctors. Separately, anti-India protests broke out in Lethpora area of Pulwama district against the thrashing of students, frequent raids on the houses and harassment of inmates by Indian forces.According to the KMS, people took to the streets after the personnel of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stopped school buses and thrashed the students. The protesters, including the family members of students, told the media the CRPF personnel deployed on Srinagar-Jammu highway at Lethpora were not allowing the school buses to move on the road. The protesters said a school bus belonging to a high school in Awantipora was not allowed to move ahead despite an official order that school buses and ambulances would not be stopped even during the movement of Indian forces’ convoys. However, when the students protested against the move, the CRPF personnel deployed on the highway thrashed the students, including a minor girl. “Some of us were thrashed only because we argued with them as they stopped our bus for no reason at all,” one of the protesting students said.Later, many locals joined the protest and blocked the highway. The furious protesters said they were being harassed every day by the Indian forces. “If there is a formal order of allowing the students and ambulances, why don’t they follow that,” said a local protester.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/0GiKvwug_uI
