Whatever was begging for them is package for present govt: Zubair

KARACHI: Former Sindh governor and PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair has said it was ironical that financial assistance secured by the previous government from foreign lenders had been termed begging while the same assistance has been dubbed “package” when secured by the present government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.Speaking at a press conference here at the Press Club on Friday, the former Sindh governor said that the situation of the country’s economy was alarming as the policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan had caused a serious blow to the economic situation.He said the recent report released by the State Bank of Pakistan had indicated that some 600,000 Pakistanis had been rendered jobless in the current year while another three to four million people in the country had been pushed down the poverty line.He said the present federal government had been full of inefficient and incapable persons having no understanding of the current situation. He said the present rulers utterly lacked eligibility to govern besides the honesty qualification, which is equally important for governance.He said the present federal government had no vision or policy to resolve issues of the masses and overcome the economic crisis in the country. He said the report of the State Bank had clearly proved that the present government had come to power without any prior homework on the economic situation. He said the present government had presented two budgets but even then it had financially overburdened the masses.He said that statistics of the most credible institution of the federal government had been indicating a bleak economic situation in the country.The former Sindh governor said there had been a historic increase in foreign debt of Pakistan in the last eight months while the circular debt had been increasing by Rs two billion almost on daily basis.He said the present government had availed foreign financial assistance during every visit of the PM outside Pakistan though Imran Khan, before coming to power, had harshly criticized foreign loans in his every speech in public gatherings.He said the present government kept on increasing foreign debt of the country in a shameless manner.The former Sindh governor said the PM had no regard for his statements in the past against foreign debt and financial assistance from friendly countries.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/aAfyZfRQ5ZY
