NAB quizzes Sindh CM in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD: A Combined Investigation Team (CIT) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday quizzed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in connection with the fake bank accounts case at its Rawalpindi office for one-and-a-half hours.The CIT handed over a written questionnaire regarding his alleged involvement in the case with the direction to submit answers in a fortnight, said a press release. “The CIT will review the answers in the light of relevant laws and decide about his summoning again to the NAB.”It merits mentioning here that the CIT was conducting investigations under the direct supervision of the NAB chairman. “The NAB believes in speedy disposal of cases and continues performing duties to eradicate corruption without caring about any duress. The NAB reaffirms its commitment to protect self-esteem of suspects, as it does not want to hurt anyone,” the statement said.The NAB also urged media to avoid speculations regarding investigations, complaint verification and inquiries, saying it reserved the right to take punitive action on publishing and broadcasting of concocted news items.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/-m2u1nh5h7o
