Modi extends Pakistan Day wishes to PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi sent him a Pakistan Day message and stressed it is time to begin a comprehensive dialogue with India, Geo News reported.In a tweet on Friday, Khan said he received a message from Modi expressing good wishes. “It is time that people of the sub-continent work together for a democratic, peaceful, progressive and prosperous region, in an atmosphere free of terror and violence,” said the Indian Premier according to the tweet.Khan tweeted: “Received msg from PM Modi: ‘I extend my greetings & best wishes to the people of Pakistan on the National Day of Pakistan. It is time that ppl of Sub-continent work together for a democratic, peaceful, progressive & prosperous region, in an atmosphere free of terror and violence.”In another tweet, Prime Minister Khan said he welcomed his Indian counterpart’s message to Pakistani people. In his response, Khan said: “As we celebrate Pakistan Day, I believe it is time to begin a comprehensive dialogue with India to address and resolve all issues, especially the central issue of Kashmir, and forge a new relationship based on peace and prosperity for all our people.”This is the first contact, especially on a pleasant note, between the two prime ministers of the nuclear-armed countries.
