HELD SRINAGAR: A paramilitary trooper in Indian-held Kashmir shot dead three of his comrades early Thursday, officials said, as fresh violence raged in the disputed territory.Police said the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper opened fire on his colleagues with his service rifle at a camp in Udhampur, some 125 miles south of Srinagar. “He shot himself too and is in a critical condition at a hospital,” Jammu police official MK Sinha told AFP, saying the man “may have been under the influence of drugs”.According to rights group Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society, 20 Indian armed forces personnel killed themselves in 2018, the most in a decade. Since 2004 there have been 80 incidents of “fratricide” and 323 suicides, it said.—AFPAPP adds: The authorities have booked at least nine persons, including four Hurriyat activists under black law in Indian occupied Kashmir — Public Safety Act (PSA) — and shifted them to Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu. All the nine people were arrested during nocturnal raids in the past one month. According to the Kashmir Media Service, those booked under PSA include Hurriyat activists Imtiyaz Haider, Tashoq Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad Misgar and Muhammad Yousuf as well as a government school teacher and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Arshad Ahmed.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/jU2rVye19EE
