Fresh off a very positive response from its premiere screening at SXSW, Lionsgate has released a new red-band trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy Long Shot (http://collider.com/tag/long-shot/). Written by Liz Hannah (The Post) and Dan Sterling (The Office), the film follows the unlikely romance between a hard-hitting political journalist (Seth Rogen) and his first crush (Charlize Theron), who now happens to be the current U.S. Secretary of State and is considering running for President.
The film debuted at SXSW this past weekend to incredibly positive reviews, with folks hailing the romcom as genuinely charming and romantic while also incredibly funny. Thatâ??s no surprise given the talent involved, and I had my eye on this one given the involvement of director Jonathan Levine, who also helmed Warm Bodies and 50/50.
The new red-band trailer offers a closer, dirtier look at the film but itâ??s surprisingly tame as far as Seth Rogen comedies go (see: this weekâ??s Good Boys trailer (http://collider.com/good-boys-red-band-trailer/)). Instead, the focus is more on the romance angle at the heart of the movie. As a big fan of the romcom genre, Iâ??m incredibly excited for this one.
