Jordan Peele is quickly becoming one of the most talked about directors in Hollywood at the moment. For those who thought his debut film, Get Out (https://www.fortressofsolitude.co.za/the-best-movies-of-2017/) (our best film for 2017), was a fluke hit, you’re about to be proven wrong. It seems Us is equally scary, funny and moving as his 2017 Academy Award-winning film.
The horror film focuses on a family’s vacation that ends up going horribly wrong when they have to face off against home invaders. It stars Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss, Winston Duke, Anna Diop, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Us screened for the first time at the annual SXSW film festival and the first reactions are incredibly positive, with many calling it the scariest film they’ve seen in years:

Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen to her family. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, each stranger takes the appearance of a different family member.
Jordan Peele’s Us is set for a 22 March 2019 release.
