AIDONIA is one of the headliners for the inaugural staging of Jamaica Rum Festival, which is scheduled for tonight and tomorrow at Hope Gardens in St Andrew.
The dancehall deejay is slated to bring the curtains down on tonight’s live performance segment.
Aidonia promises a great set for his fans.
“Fans can expect an engergised performance. Yuh know how the 4th Genna do it,†he told the Jamaica Observer yesterday.
Aidonia is known for songs, including Yeah Yeah, VVS and Big Baller, and has been dominating the airwaves.
Tonight’s other acts include Sevana, Dean Fraser and Friends, Pluto Shervington, Wayne Marshall, and Dance Expression.
Day two of the Jamaica Rum Festival will conclude with lover’s rock sensation Sanchez.
Sanchez (real name Kevin Jackson) is among the survivors of the late 1980s dancehall upsurge. Lonely Won’t Leave Me Alone, Brown Eye Girl, and I Can’t Wait are some of the many hits that have made him one of the genre’s heavyweights.
Synt Ochestra, Ikaya, Agent Sasco, Jesse Royal and a mento band are also on the line-up for tomorrow night.
In addition to stellar performances, the event will boast mixology competitions and a journey through the history of rums.
