ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Tuesday that he has spoken to his UAE counterpart and "expressed reservations" about invitation to India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to attend the OIC meeting scheduled later this week.Addressing a press conference here after a special meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC), Qureshi said the situation has changed now.“At the request of Pakistan, there is an OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) conflict group emergency meeting underway (in Jeddah), and Tehmina Janjua is representing Pakistan there. We will present Pakistan's point of view at that forum,” he said."Aggression has been done against a founding member of the OIC. The Muslims in India are in fear, and Kashmiris are being targeted," he said, referring to intrusion of Indian aircraft into Pakistani airspace."Keeping this situation in mind we need to re-evaluate, and we need to brief the Parliament. Whatever the facts are, aside from the foreign office, the DG military operations and deputy chief of air staff will together take them into confidence and inform them about the exact situation. It is our responsibility and obligation to inform the people of Pakistan,” the minister said.Meanwhile, Pakistan reached out to UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman over the issue where Prime Minister Imran Khan held telephonic conversations with them.Qureshi said he talked to his Turkish counterpart.“Once again Indian government has resorted to a self-serving, reckless and fictitious claim. This action has been done for domestic consumption being in an election environment, putting regional peace and stability at grave risk,” he pointed out.Meanwhile, Qureshi briefed the members of the diplomatic corps about the Indian violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. He reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on continuing support to the peaceful political struggle of the Kashmiri people for the realisation of the right to self-determination as enshrined in the UN Security Council resolutions.Meanwhile, Qureshi in his call with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Pakistan maintained responsible behaviour in response to the Indian threats however the country won’t compromise on its territorial integrity. Qureshi apprised his US counterpart over the blatant Line of Control violation by the Indian security forces, and the stance of Pakistani government, Parliament and masses reaction over the concerning development. The foreign minister said that the Indian government is destabilising the peace and security of South Asia for gains in the coming general election.Qureshi said that the state of Pakistan informed the international community of the expected Indian aggression before the recent intrusion.http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/LGrv1x_YjNo
